We're Those Ones

We're the kids your parents warned you about,

So many years ago;

We're the ones that played in the rain,

When no one else was around.

We're the ones with messed up lives,

Stories that no one would believe;

We're the ones who helped each other,

When everyone else refused.

We're the kids that got teased in school,

But ended up the bullies;

We're the ones who flunked all our classes,

Not like we ever cared.

We're the ones who everyone gave up on,

Before they even met us;

We're the ones with devilish grins,

That only hide our shattered smiles.

We're the kids that said we would never be sorry,

Never, for anything we'd done;

We're the ones who ended up in that detention center,

Sitting there alone, wanting to go home.

We're the ones who wish we could go back,

Fix some of the mistakes we've made;

We're the ones who are broken inside,

Yet we're the ones too proud to admit it.
